Optical device for measuring moisture in a substrate, in which device water is conveyed from the substrate along a porous absorption part (5) on a surface (4) of a prism so that it causes the critical angle of the total reflection to be changed thereon as a result of the change of the index of refraction. Another surface of the prism is dyed or patterned and covered in such a manner that it becomes visible only through reflection from the surface (4) when the surface is dry. When the surface (4) is moist, only the absorption part is visible through the viewing surface. Claims (2) [1] Claim 1. An optical device for measuring the moisture content of a porous substance, comprising a housing and an optical prism of total internal reflection placed in it, one of the faces of which is an observation surface and is located in the viewing window of the housing, characterized in that, in order to increase accuracy, it additionally an absorber is introduced, having two sections and made in the form of a tape, and a reflector made of a material contrasting in color with the material of the absorber, and the body is equipped with two openings located on the opposite bying its ends, wherein the first hole is formed at the location of the first portion of the absorber, the second portion of the absorber and the reflector are arranged in contact with the second and third prism faces, respectively the second face of the prism is reflective. 3. The device according to claim 2, characterized in that the prisms are made of acrylic with a refractive index of 1.49, the angles between the faces of the prisms are 6.42 and 132 °, and the angle between the normals.
